Description of socket hardware
Sockets for different modes and instrument connectors
In this chapter the sockets are described from the aspect of their usage and compati-
bility with various instrument connectors.
Cutting and coagulation modes
Specific cutting and coagulation modes are allocated to the sockets. Via the monopolar
socket you can thus activate AUTO CUT and SOFT COAG for example. If you require
SOFT COAG for one of your applications, the monopolar socket is used.
Instrument compatibility
The VIO electrosurgical unit is sold all over the world. The standard instrument con-
nectors vary from country to country. To ensure your instruments can be connected to
the electrosurgical unit, the sockets are available in various designs.
