Change program settings
Program settings should only be made by knowledgeable personnel who are familiar
with the functions of the unit in all details and are able to assess the effects of the
settings selected.
Note: When setting the unit take note of the description of the CUT and COAG modes
on page
69 ff.
1. Use the selection button next to the program display to choose the program you
want to change.
2. Make the required changes for one or both sockets one after the other and save
the settings (see the following sections).
The following describes changes to program settings using Program 2 as an example.
Focus socket
This socket has to be focused to change the settings for a specific socket.
The unit always displays the settings of the socket currently in focus. The socket cur-
rently in focus can be identified by the illuminated Focus button.
Press the Focus button of the socket for which you want to perform settings (e.g.
the Focus button of the monopolar socket).
The selected socket is focused.
The current settings of the socket in focus are displayed.
Change mode
A description of the CUT and COAG modes can be found on page 69 ff.
1. To change the CUT mode, press the selection button next to the display of the CUT
mode in the CUT setting area.
2. To change the COAG mode, press the selection button next to the display of the
COAG mode in the COAG setting area.
Change power limitation
The power limitation is a measure of the intensity of the coagulation for both the CUT
and COAG modes. A higher power limitation means faster coagulation or a deeper co
-
agulation zone during the same activation period.
A power limitation as low as possible protects the patient and instrument from injury
or damage.
WARNING
Power setting too high
The higher the power setting, the higher the risk of accidental tis-
sue damage.
Risk of accidental tissue damage to the patient!
Set power as low as possible relative to the required surgical ef-
fect. If the required surgical effect is not achieved, increase the
power.
