Compatible neutral electrodes
The supported neutral electrode plugs are described in the chapter Description of
socket hardware.
If you have a neutral electrode without a cable, connect a suitable cable. Please see
the Erbe accessories catalog.
The neutral electrode monitoring system of the VIO C monitors the electrical connec-
tion between the neutral electrode and the unit for single and dual surface neutral
electrodes. The skin contact is also monitored for dual surface neutral electrodes.
All Erbe neutral electrodes are correctly monitored. When using third-party neutral
electrodes, you must check in the accompanying papers of the manufacturer whether
the neutral electrode is suitable for the VIO used.
Compatible footswitches
You can connect only Erbe footswitches to the VIO. There are special footswitches for
the VIO
D / VIO S series and special footswitches for the VIO C series.
If you connect a footswitch, refer to the chapter Controls on the back, Footswitch sock-
ets.
Non-compatible or single surface neutral electrode
When applying a non-compatible neutral electrode, it should be ex-
pected that monitoring the contact between neutral electrode and
skin is faulty.
When applying a single surface neutral electrode, the contact be-
tween neutral electrode and skin is not monitored. If contact be-
tween neutral electrode and skin is inadequate, the unit does not
emit any visual and acoustic signal.
Risk of burns for the patient under the neutral electrode!
Check in the accompanying papers of the manufacturer whether
the neutral electrode is suitable for the VIO unit used.
Use only suitable neutral electrodes.
When applying a single surface neutral electrode: Regularly
check the neutral electrode for good skin contact.
Check in the accompanying papers of the manufacturer whether
the neutral electrode cable is suitable for the neutral electrode
used.
Use only suitable neutral electrode cables.
