Why does my Fastus Amplifier show teach error 1?

Teach error 1 on your Fastus Amplifier means that the received light amount is too small to set the threshold while executing the teach function. To fix this, try the following: * Ensure the fiber unit is correctly inserted (fiber insertion indicators should be off). * Select a longer “Response time” mode. * If the “Emitter power” is lowered, increase it. * If using a diffuse reflective fiber unit, reduce the distance between the object and the fiber unit. * If using a through-beam fiber unit, accurately adjust the light axis of the emitter and receiver.

What to do if Fastus D4RF shows teach error 2?
    • S
      Sharon WrightNov 10, 2025
Teach error 2 on a Fastus Amplifier indicates a saturated status during the teach function due to an excessive received light amount. The causes vary depending on the fiber unit type. If you're using a diffuse reflective fiber unit, the background might be too close, reflecting too much light, or the emitter power is too high. For a through-beam fiber unit, the emitter and receiver might be too close, or the emitter power is too high. To resolve this, lower the received light amount by trying these solutions: * Set the “Emitter power” to “Auto” or lower, and then retry the teach. * If using a diffuse reflective fiber unit, increase the distance between the object and the fiber unit. * If using a through-beam fiber unit, increase the distance between the emitter and receiver of the f...

How to fix teach error 3 on Fastus Amplifier?
    • K
      kathleen67Dec 1, 2025
Teach error 3 on the Fastus Amplifier during the 2-point mode teach function indicates that the difference between the received light amounts of the first and second points was too small to set the threshold. This can happen if, when using a diffuse reflective fiber unit, the difference in received light amounts with the object not present (the background) and present was too small. Or, if using a through-beam fiber unit, with an object present, the received light amount does not decrease because the object does not block the light sufficiently. Here’s how to address it: * Check whether light is received for the first point and is not received for the second point during execution of the teach function. (It is also possible to execute the teach function with light not received for the f...
