Edge Peak Display ([S9] - [IB])
This displays the the largest, smallest, and present differences between the received light amounts of the
measured and set comparison targets.
This function is useful when checking whether objects are detected appropriately with the Edge height
setting.

If the Edge peak display is shown as follows, judgments are not performed appropriately with the Edge
height setting, so make adjustments according to the following table.
• No changes of real-time difference
No light is received.

• The difference of the received light amounts does not exceed the threshold
Differences in the received light amounts have been measured. However, the changes are too small to
exceed the set thresholds, so no output is generated.

Edge offset/Response
time
“Edge offset” or “Response time” is too short, so the differences do not reach the
thresholds.
Emitter power If the received light amounts are too low or too high, it may lead to prevent small objects
from being detected or lead to saturation.
Largest and smallest differences
Displays the largest and smallest differences of the received
light amounts. The largest difference is the reference for the
Positive Edge direction. The smallest difference is the reference
for the Negative Edge direction.
Press the [OK] key to reset these values.
Real-time difference
Displays the present difference of received light amount from a set comparison
target.
