2.3 Operation with the general DP master
The Festo CP system can be controlled from any PLC, PC or
industrial PC with a PROFI BUS-DP module in accordance with
EN 50170 (DIN 19245).

2.3.1 Bus start
In order to commission the CP system correctly, the DP
master must carry out the following functions in the sequence
specified:
1. send a parametrizing telegram
2. send a configuration telegram
3. request diagnostic information
4. start cyclic exchange of data
The composition and contents of the individual telegrams are
described in the following chapters.
