5.3.1 Fiber Loop Modules
Two types of fiber optic modules are available to use to transmit and receive communication with the FIK-NIC. See Figure 5.52.

The FIK-FML (Fiber-Optic Multi-Mode) and FIK-FSL (Fiber-Optic Single-Mode) are plug-in fiber loop modules. The two types of fiber
optic modules are used as one channel to transmit or receive communications with the FIK-NIC, ARCNET communication circuit.
The following describe the two types of fiber optic modules.
The FIK-FML is a fiber module that allows the multi-mode fiber to network between nodes.
The FIK-FSL is a fiber module that allows the single-mode fiber to network between nodes.
Each fiber loop module can Transmit (TX) and Receive (RX) fiber-optic cable connecting to the FIK-NIC. Up to two fiber loop cards can be
added to the FIK-NIC, and both cards may be combined in the same configuration. See Figure 5.53.
