Connecting external d evices
HDMI port (device-dependent)
HDMIport
The HDMI port of your notebook can be u sed to connect an external ampli fier,
LCD TV or a plasma TV with an HDMI connection.
► Connect the data cable to the
external device.
► Connect the data cable to the HD MI
port of the notebook.
Some LCD televisions ha ve only two loudsp eaker connections and therefore
cannot re produ ce Dolby digital or DTS. In order to reproduce the sou nd, you
must go into Windows Vista and adjust the sound settings.
Proceed as follows:
► Select Startsymb o l – (Settings) – Control Panel – Hardware and Sound – Sound.
► Mark Realtek Digital O utp ut.
► Select Properties – Supported formats.
► Deactivate the settings DTS audio and Do lb y digital.
► Confirm the settings with OK.
Setting the refresh rate for your external monitor
Monitor
If the refresh rate set is too high, the monitor may be da maged. Please see the
documentation i ncluded with your monitor for the maximum possible refresh rate.
By setting the optimum refresh rate you w ill avoid screen flicker.
► Set the appropriate refresh rate for the type o f monitor connected.
► Select Startsymb ol – (Settings) – Co ntrol Panel – Ap p ea ran ce and Person alizatio n
– Personalization : Adjust screen resolution.
or
► Right-click on the desktop. Under Personalization – Display Settings, choose screen type 1 or 2.
► Select Advanced Settings – Mo n itor.
► Select Screen Refresh R ate to choose the optimum refresh rate for th e connected monitor type.
► Click Apply and OK.
