4. Position a microscope directly above the cleaver to use the Fiber Height Checking
Mirror for inspection.
5. Inspect the fiber with a microscope. Inspect the difference between the centers of each
fiber.
Guidelines for fiber height adjustment
*Height is adjusted using shims underneath the left insert base.
࣭ Difference within 100m…………………………No adjustment needed
࣭ Difference 110m ࠥ 200m……………………...Increase or decrease the thickness
of the shim on the left clamp to adjust
࣭ Difference 210m or more………………………Use a different size of insert.
6. Observe the fiber from directly above with a microscope.
Check the difference between the centers of each side of the cleaved fiber
Guidelines for lateral adjustment
࣭ Difference within 200m……………….No adjustment needed
࣭ Difference 210m or more…………….Improper clamp position. May cause
poor cleaving
