Cleaving Operation
Loading Fiber into the Cleaver
1. When the screen shows “[READY],” confirm that no fiber is loaded in the cleaver, then
press the SET key. The left clamp will move to the position determined by the [Left
Clamp Position] setting in the cleave parameters.
*Skip this step if the monitor shows [FIBER SET OPERATION].*
2. Open both the left and right clamps. To open the clamp lid, loosen the screw on the lid,
raise the release lever, and lift the clamp lid.
3. If the backstop has been moved forward, rotate the micrometer counterclockwise to fully
retract the backstop.
¾ Confirm there is no dust or dirt on the clamp or insert. Refer to “Pre-Operation
Cleaning and Checking” for instructions on cleaning the clamp and insert.
