(5) Cleave angle is too large / Cleave shape is not good

Dust or dirt may be on the cleaver blade and insert. Refer to the [Daily Maintenance] and
[Loading Fiber into the Cleaver] section and clean them.
࣭
There is a possibility of improper [Cleave Tension]. Adjust the [Cleave Tension] by editing
the [Tension Setting].
࣭
The cleaver blade may be worn out. Execute [Blade Position Change] in the
[Maintenance Menu]. If all of the blade positions have been used, execute [Blade
Replacement] in the [Maintenance Menu].

If the backstop is used, confirm that it is properly positioned. If the backstop is dusty or
dirty, clean it. *Refer to the [Daily Maintenance] and [Loading Fiber into the Cleaver].

Clamp force may be improper/insufficient. Adjust the [Left/Right Clamp Force] by editing
the [Cleave Mode].
࣭
The height of the lower insert may be improper. Adjust the height of the lower insert with
reference to the [How to replace Insert and Shim] section.
࣭
Setting [Left Clamp Position] larger may improve the cleave angle / cleave shape.
࣭
Setting the [Clamp Mode] to “Left -> Right” may improve the cleave angle / cleave
shape.
