8.9 Removing/Replacing the Batteries
If you need to replace the rechargeable batteries, use NiMH high energy
rechargeable batteries (GE part number 705-1023).
IMPORTANT: Replace batteries with the specified rechargeable NiMH
batteries only. Do not attempt to recharge non-rechargeable
batteries.
To remove/replace the batteries:
1. Make sure the new battery pack is charged as described in Recharging
the Batteries on page 151.
2. Remove the four thumb screws on the back panel that secure the NiMH
battery pack. Lift the battery pack out of the unit. See Figure 73.
3. Insert the new battery pack.
4. Replace the four screws on the back panel.
