8.11Error and Screen Messages
The PM880 has a series of error messages that display on the screen when
the error occurs. The error messages are only general descriptions of the
possible problems. The PM880 also has several screen messages that appear
during operation and setup.
Use Table 5 to isolate and remedy the problem. If you are unable to remedy
the problem, contact the factory.

Error Codes
Err 1:
No Probe
A probe of type required has not
been installed.
Connect the required probe.
Err 2:
Out of Range
A calculated result exceeds the
unit’s capacity.
Contact the factory.
Err 3:
Over Range
A calculated result exceeds the
unit’s calibration range.
Contact the factory.
Change the measurement units so
that the result is within range.
Err 4:
Under Range
A calculated result is below the
unit’s calibration range.
Contact the factory.
Err 5:
Not Avail
The mode or units selected
require more data or a different
sensor.
Choose a different mode and/or
units.
Connect the required probe.
Err 6:
No Comm
The MIS Probe did not respond
to a request for data.
Check the MIS Probe connections.
Replace the MIS Probe.
Err 7:
No Link
Communication with an MIS
Probe has failed. The probe is
disconnected or damaged.
Check the MIS Probe connections.
Replace the MIS Probe.
Err 8:
Bad CRC
Communication with an MIS
Probe is intermittent or dis-
torted.
Check for cable breaks or high
electromagnetic interference
(EMI).
Err 9:
Bad Msg
The MIS Probe sent a response
not supported by the PM880.
Consult the factory.
