12. Once the heat sink and the bracket are aligned, place the heat sink over the bracket
and push down until the retention clips are engaged over the heat sink. An audible
click indicates a correct installation.

13. Remove the
heat sink assembly from the carrier and inspect the assembly.
Before proceeding with the processor assembly installation, verify that the heat sink
and carrier are properly assembled.
a. Verify that the clip latches are correctly engaged to the four corners of the heat
sink. See the following figure for further information.
b. The PIN1 indicators on the processor and the clip are properly aligned signifying
that the processor is properly seated in the clip.
If any of the previous steps are not assembled correctly, start from the beginning
and reinstall the heat sink.

Make sure the PIN1 indicator on the heat sink is aligned with the PIN1 indicator on the bracket
before removing the assembly.
