Installing a fan
Procedure
1. If installed, remove the front bezel.
2. Power down the server.
3. Remove all power:
a. Disconnect each power cord from the power source.
b. Disconnect each power cord from the server.
4. Disconnect all peripheral cables from the server.
5. Do one of the following:
• Extend the server from the rack.
• Remove the server from the rack.
6.
Remove the access panel.
7. Remove the air baffle.
8. Determine which fan blanks need to be removed to install the additional fans.
9. Remove the fan blank.
10. Install the fan:
a. Install the fan into the fan cage.
b. Route the fan cable through the groove on the fan cage.
c. Connect the fan cable to the system board.
