9.5 Optional special accessory
Retaining plate
In its basic position the hydraulic retaining plate is on top and the ram is in the rear position
(filling opening free). When compaction starts, the ram carries out one compaction cycle. In
the front position a pressure switch makes the ram move backward. The ram is retracted so far
that it does not affect the movement of the retaining plate. Then the hydraulic retaining plate
moves downward thus reducing the opening towards the container. Thanks to that less com-
pacted material can re-expand into the compaction chamber. After that the ram moves into its
rear position. For the following compaction procedure the retaining plate moves upward and
the cycle starts again.
For SPB SEN-E and SPB SEL-E compactors two variants are available:
1. with a stroke to the upper edge of the ram
2. with a stroke nearly to the compactor floor
Optionally a selector switch can be mounted to start the hydraulic retaining plate.
