15.2.1 Checking the oil level
To reach the hydraulic power unit, open the cover above the power pack in compliance with
the safety regulations as described above.
The hydraulic oil should be checked regularly for its quantity and, if necessary, top up with
Texaco HDZ 15. The ram must be in the rear position (compaction chamber open).
An oil change is recommended every 2 years or after approx. 2000 operating hours. The
old oil is pumped out of the hydraulic tank by means of a pump. Deposits can be re-
moved from the inside via the opening of the cap.

Tank capacity of compactor with hydraulic control block: 45 litres 100 litres
Tank contents of compactor with electrical control block: 45 litres 100 litres
To check the oil level, proceed as follows:
Loosen the cover screw of the hydraulic power unit
Push the cover to the side
The distance between oil surface and edge of the hydraulic tank should be approx. 50 mm.
Fill up with hydraulic oil if necessary
Moisten the rubber seal with oil and make sure the rubber seal is in the correct position!
Put the cover back to its original position
Retighten the cover screws
WARNING!
Components of the hydraulic system can become very hot during operation.
Let the components to cool down before performing any maintenance or
work on the hydraulic system!
ATTENTION!
Oils and maintenance products can leave a slippery film on painted surfaces and
floors.
Remove spills immediately!
WARNING!
When working on the hydraulics make sure to be extremely clean. The oil should
only be drained as long as it is warm.
Waste oil and filters must be disposed of or recycled in accordance with
statutory regulations.
