Media Devices (CD-ROM, Tape, or Disk Drive)
The following procedures cover removal and replacement of the media devices.
Before performing these procedures, read “Handling Static-Sensitive Devices” on
page 254.
Removal
1. Remove the service access cover. See “Covers” on page 258.
2. Remove the bezel. See “Bezels” on page 262.
3. If you are removing the disk drive, you must remove the operator panel. See
“Operator Panel” on page 287.
4. To gain better access, slide the media devices out of the bays located above the
device you are removing.
5. Disconnect the signal and power cables.
6. Remove the device.
7. If you are removing a media device other than a disk drive, remove the blue slides
from the sides of the device.
