1. Turn off the power.
2. Install a pair of memory DIMMs.
3. Turn on the power.
Does the system stop with a memory checkpoint or error code displayed on the
operator panel?
NO Repeat this step until all the memory DIMMs are installed and tested.
If all the memory DIMMs have been installed, reseating the memory DIMMs on
the memory card has corrected the problem.

The failure may be caused by the last pair of memory DIMMs installed or the memory
card. To isolate the failing FRU, do the following:
1. Turn off the power.
2. Exchange the last memory DIMM pair installed with another pair removed in “Step
1240-1” on page 50 (or any other available pair).
3. Turn on the power.

NO Go to “Step 1240-5” on page 52.
YES Go to “Step 1240-4” on page 52.
