■ Scan types
Scanning searches for signals automatically and makes it
easier to locate new stations for contact or listening pur-
poses.
There are 7 scan types and 4 resume conditions to suit your
operating needs.
FULL SCAN (p. 75)
Repeatedly scans all fre-
quencies over the entire
band.
Some frequency ranges are
not scanned according to the
frequency coverage of the
transceiver’s version.
SELECTED BAND SCAN
(p. 75)
Repeatedly scans all fre-
quencies over the entire se-
lected band.
ALL/SELECTED BANK
SCAN
(p. 78)
Repeatedly scans all bank
channels or selected bank
channels. The skip scan is
also available.
FREQUENCY/MEMORY
SKIP FUNCTION
(p. 79)
Skips unwanted frequen-
cies or channels that incon-
veniently stop scanning.
This function can be turned
ON and OFF by pushing and
holding [SKIP](5) in either
VFO or memory mode.
PROGRAMMED SCAN
(p. 75)
Repeatedly scans between
two user-programmed fre-
quencies. Used for checking
for frequencies within a speci-
fied range such as repeater
output frequencies, etc.
MEMORY (SKIP) SCAN
(p. 77)
Repeatedly scans memory
channels except those set
as skip channel. Skip chan-
nels can be turned ON and
OFF by pushing and holding
[SKIP](5) in memory mode.
