in t he event of a failed BI OS updat e.
Clearing Passwords
This procedure assum es that the board is inst alled in t he com put er and the
configurat ion jum per is set t o norm al m ode.
1. Observe t h e precautions in "Befor e You Begin" on page 23.
2. Turn off all peripheral devices connect ed t o the com puter. Turn off t he com put er.
Disconnect t he com put er’s power cord from t h e AC pow er source (wall outlet or
power adapt er) .
3. Rem ove the com puter cov er.
4. Find t he configurat ion j um per block (see Figure 14) .
5. Place t he j um per on pins 2- 3.
6. Replace the cover, plug in the com puter, turn on t he com puter, and allow it to
boot .
7. The com puter st arts the Setup program . Set up displays t he Maintenance m enu.
8. Use t he arr ow k eys t o select Clear Passwords. Press < Enter> and Set u p displays a
pop-up screen request ing that you confirm clearing the password. Select Yes and
press < Enter> . Setup displays the m aintenance m enu again.
9. Press < F10> t o save the current values and exit Set up.
10. Turn off the com puter. Disconnect the com put er’s power cord from t he AC pow er
source.
11. Rem ove the com put er cover.
12. To rest ore norm al operation, place the jum per on pins 1- 2.
13. Replace the cover, plug in the com puter, and turn on the com puter.
