FRU Manager Add-in
The FRU Manager is an add-in module, which allows users to view the FRU inventory areas on the
server machine. The FRU Manager will have the functionality to display the FRU inventory areas
in an interpreted, easy-to-understand textual form. The add-in allows users to do the following
operations:
1. Examine any of the individual FRU inventory areas.
2. Examine FRU inventory areas from a previously stored file.
3. Save the FRU inventory areas to a file in either text.
The FRU Manager has the following menus:
File
The File menu has the following options:
• Load: View data from a previously saved FRU file.
• Save: Saves the currently loaded FRU data to a file.
• Save As: Saves the currently loaded FRU data to a file.
• Exit: Quits the FRU Viewer.
View
The View menu has the following options:
• FRU Info: Displays information about the FRU. These fields are display only.
• All FRU Areas: Displays the current FRU data from the BMC.
• By Device Type: Brings up a popup menu that allows you to view only the data from a certain
device type.
Settings
The Settings menu has the following options:
• Display HEX/Verbose: Toggles between the Hex/interpreted mode of displaying the
FRU records.
• Output Text/Binary: Determines whether FRU data will be saved to the file (as under
File - Save) in binary format or verbose format.
Help
The Help menu has the following option:
• About: Displays the FRU Viewer version information.
