14. TIRE PRESSURE (INFLATION)
Improper tire pressure causes abnormal wear of the
tires and affects the front mower performance. Too high
pressure causes the front mower to bounce too much
and too low pressure increases travelling resistance,
which leads to power loss.
Tire pressure should be checked everyday.
Tire size Pressure
Front 23x10.5-12 140 kPa (1.4 kgf/cm
2
)
Rear 18x8.5-8 154 kPa (1.54 kgf/cm
2
)
WARNING:
Tire inflation should be set to the values
specified in this manual. Excessive
inflation may cause explode, which may
result in serious accidents.
Never use a tire with a cut or crack which
reaches tire cords as such a tire may
explode.
When a tire, tube, or rim is required
for replacement, ask your dealer. Such
operation should be done by a trained
mechanic especially for tire handing.
Insufficient pressure in the tires causes
uneven tire wearing that can shorten tire
lifetime.
15. STEERING WHEEL
Start the engine and turn the steering wheel lightly in
both directions to check the wheel turns smoothly.
・
TOE-IN
Make sure that the tire toe-in is properly set. Improper
toe-in causes unstable steering of the front mower: the
front mower has a tendency to turn in one direction, right
or left or the steering wheel turns unexpectedly.
Proper toe-in: A-B = 2 to 6 mm (0.08 to 0.23 in.)
CAUTION: When any abnormality is found
with the steering wheel or toe-in of the
tires, ask your dealer to correct it, because
correction of the steering system requires
special tools and special training.
