IfyousettheButtonsModeparametertoOn,pressinganybuttonsonthePC3LEwillgenerate
SystemExclusive(SysEx)messagesthataresenttotheMIDIOutport.Thisenablesyoutodo
twothings:controlaremotePC3LE,and/orrecordsequencesofprogrammingbuttonpressesto
asequencer
orSysExsoftwarepackage.
IfyouhavetheMIDIInportofanotherPC3LEconnectedtothefirstone’sMIDIOutport,the
secondinstrumentwillrespondtoeverybuttonpressonthefirstinstrument,justasifyouwere
pressingthebuttonsofthesecondone.Keepinmindthat
bothdevicesmustbeinexactlythe
samestate(thesamepageinthesamemode,withidenticallistsofRAMobjects)whenyoustart.
Otherwisethebuttonpressesyoumakeonthefirstinstrumentmayexecuteotherfunctionson
thesecondinstrument.
Again,it’simportanttokeepinmindthat
thestateofyourPC3LEmustbeidenticaltoitsstate
whenyourecordedthesequenceofbuttonpresses.Ifyou’veaddedordeletedanyobjects
storedinRAM, forexample,thesequenceofbuttonpresseswillselectdifferentobjectswhen
youplaybackthebuttonpresssequence.
