Pan Sources When An Initial Pan Is Not Set
IfaninitialPanisnotstoredwitheachtrack,thePanforeachtrackofyoursongwillbeset
dependingonwhatmodeyouwereinprevioustoloadingthesong.IfyouareinSongmode
andhaveplayedasong,andthenyouloa dasong
withoutinitialPansettings,thePanofeach
trackofthenewlyloadedsongwillbesetbythepreviouslyplayedsong.Pansettingsaretiedto
MIDIchannels,sothePanofeachtrackwillbedependentonwhichMIDIchannelisassignedto
eachtrackineachsong.
IfyouareinSongmodeandyouloadasongthatdoesnothaveinitial
Pansettingswithoutplayinganothersongfirst,thePanoftheMIDIchannelforeachtrackisset
dependingonwhichmodeyouenterSongmodefrom.IfyouenterSongmodefromProgram
mode
orQuickAccessmode,thePanofeachMIDIchannelissetbasedonthepanforeach
MIDIchannelsetinthosemodes.IfyouenterSongmodefromSetupmode,thePanofeach
MIDIchannelissetifazoneusesthesameMIDIchannelonthe
SetupModeCH/PROGpage(set
withtheChannelparameter.)IfazonedoesuseaMIDIchannelthatoneofthetracksinyour
songuses,thePanofthattrackwillbesetbytheExitPanparameterofthatzone(onthe
SetupMode:PANVOLpage.)Ifmultiplezonesusethesame
MIDIchannel,theExitPanofthe
highestnumberedzonethatusesthatchannelwillsetthePanfortracksthatusethatchannel.If
ExitPanissettoNONE,thevalueforEntryPanisused.IfEntryPanandExitPanaresetto
NONE,thenthetrackforthatchannel
usesthePansett ingofthatchannelinProgrammodeor
QuickAccessmode.Ifthereisnozonethatusescertainchannelsusedbyyoursong,thenthose
channelsinyoursongwillusethePansettingofthosechannelssetinProgrammodeorQuick
Accessmode.
Mode
IfModeissettoMergeyouwillbeabletooverdubwhenrecordingonatrackcontaining
previouslyrecordeddata.YoullusuallywanttosetModetoMergewhenRecMode(ontheBIG
page)issettoLoop.Otherwise,eachtimethroughthe loop,thepreviouslyrecorded
informationwill
beerased.
IfyousetModetoErase,thepreviouslyrecordeddataontherecordenabledtrackwillbe
replacedwiththenewdataonlyduringtheBarsandBeatsyouareactuallyrecording,andthe
previouslyrecordeddatabeforeandafterthenewlyrecordedBarsandBeatswillbepreserved.
Location (Locat)
TheBarandBeatdisplayedastheLocatevaluechangesrelativetocurrentlocationofthesong
duringplaybackandrecording.YoucansetthistoanegativeBarandBeatlocationtostart
playbackasetlengthoftimebeforethebeginningofthesong.
WheneveryousettheLocate
point,thatlocationwillbeusedasthereturnpointwhenStopis
pressed.SimplypressStopagaintoresetthe songtothetop(1:1).
Mode Indicators (+ and x):
ModeIndicatorsappearonlyfortracksthatalreadycontaindata.
Aplussign(+)appearsabovetheTrackStatusIndicatorofatracksettorecord(R)whenthe
ModeparameterissettoMerge.
An(x)appearsabovetheTrackStatusIndicatorofatracksettoRecord(R)
whentheMode
parameterissettoErase.
Activity Indicators
AsmallsquareabovetheTrackStatusIndicatorofatracksettoPlay(P)orMute(M)meansthe
trackcontainsdata.
