FS-6020
1-5-7
(1-5) Error code 6020 [A2] (abnormally high fixing temperature error)
Detection conditions
• The fixing heater lamp runaway protection circuit in the engine/high voltage PWB outputs continuously the abnormally
high temperature detection signal (HTEMPN) to the CPU for a longer time than specified.
Corrective measures
Is there any damage to
the harness (S028??) between
the fixing unit and the engine/high voltage
PWB or improper connection at the YC5
connector on the engine/high-
voltage PWB?
Is the voltage at pin
No. 1 of the YC5 connector
on the engine/high voltage PWB
higher than 3.2 V DC for more than
3 seconds when the
error occurs?
If any problem is found on the
harness or the connector,
repair or replace it.
Replace the engine/high voltage
PWB. (See page 1-6-26.)
End
Replace the engine/high voltage
PWB or the power supply PWB
(See page 1-6-26 and 29.)

Start
Replace the fixing unit (fixing thermistor).
(See pages 1-6-18 and 23.)
Cautions
Be careful when handling the fixing unit because it is hot.
Take care not to get an electric shock because AC power is supplied from the power source PWB to the
fixing unit.
Turn on the printer, connect a tester
or an oscilloscope, and measure as
follows.
* Possible defective locations
(causes)
• Engine/high voltage PWB
• Fixing unit
• Power source PWB
