The maximum length of the FSB is 80 m (both directions); for length> 80 m, intermediate am-
plifiers (repeaters) must be used.
Problem Possible cause Remedy
No Bus communica-
tion via the main con-
necting cable
Bus is not correctly termi-
nated.
F300K with user interface
• Use the User Interface to switch the terminating
resistor on.
F300K
• Use a connecting cable that is as short as possible.
• Termination: Connect a 120 terminating resistor to
the last device connected to the bus.
• Switch the terminating resistor on again in the
F300K.
External User Interface
• Switch on the terminating resistor with the external
User Interface (7.6.2 Parameterising the User Inter-
face
USB/FSB module
• Add the terminating resistor.
Installation, commissioning, maintenance
• Note the document "supply and engineering guide".

The error LED
flashes constantly
although the error
has been eliminated
and/or an error can-
not be read out.
A serious error has occurred
resulting in the prevention of
an automatic RESET.
• Reset the hardware by interrupting the supply volt-
age for approximately 10 seconds.
• Read the error out after switching the device on
again.
• If the error occurs again, contact the manufacturer.
