B ADJUSTMENT OF R.P.M.
The construction of the gearbox on the front side of the
SPLENDIMO PC mowers is such that by reversing the
gearbox (fig. B-1) the machine can be adjusted to either a 540
or 1,000 r.p.m. drive.
Attention: the machine needs to be driven at the PTO speed
that is shown on the front side of the upper half of the
gearbox.
Proceed as follows to change the drive r.p.m.:
- Place the draw bar on a support so that the headstock can be
dismounted.
- Dismount the headstock.
- Remove the oil from both gearbox halves and make sure
you collect the oil from both segments separately.
- Dismount the gearbox from the draw bar.
- Exchange the connection points for the breather A (fig.
B-1) and drain plug B on each half of the gearbox with one
another.
Displace the drain plugs B.
- Fit the gearbox to the draw bar.
- Fill the gearbox with the drained-off oil through the
connection point for the breathers A.
Use the largest quantity of oil to fill the lower half.
- Place the breathers A of the gearbox in such a way that
these protrude upwards from the top half.
- Mount the headstock.
- Secure the gearbox bolts to the draw bar and headstock by
means of the locking strip.
- Remove the support and place the machine on its parking
jack.
The machine is now ready for operation at the r.p.m. rate that
is shown on the front side of the top half of the gearbox.
