Ifyouarereplacingaservercomponentintheserver,youneedtoturnofftheserverandperipheraldevices,
anddisconnectthepowercordsandallexternalcables.
ToremovetheUSBcableandlightpathdiagnosticsassemblyfromtheserver,completethefollowingsteps.
Step1.Carefullylaytheserverdownonitsside.
Step2.Unlockandremovetheleft-sidecover(see“Removingtheleft-sidecover”onpage184).
Step3.Removetheairbaffle(see“Removingtheairbaffle”onpage189).
Step4.Removethefancageassembly(see“Removingthefancageassembly”onpage272).
Step5.Disconnectthelightpathdiagnosticscablefromthesystemboard(see“System-boardinternal
connectors”onpage27and“Internalcableroutingandconnectors”onpage312).
Step6.Standtheserverbackupinitsverticalposition.
Step7.Openthebezelbypressingthebuttonontheleftedgeofthebezel,androtatetheleftsideofthe
bezelawayfromtheserver.
Step8.PressdownonthereleaselatchonthebottomoftheUSBcableandlightpathdiagnostics
assemblybracket;then,rotatethetopofthemountingbracketawayfromtheserver.
