5. After replacing the processor, make sure to reconfigure the server and reset system date and time.
System board replacement (trained technician only)
Follow instructions in this section to remove and install the system board.
Important: This task must be operated by trained technicians that are certified by Lenovo Service. Do not
attempt to remove or install the part without proper training and qualification.
CAUTION:
Hazardous moving parts. Keep fingers and other body parts away.
CAUTION:
The heat sinks and processors might be very hot. Turn off the server and wait several minutes to let
the server cool before removing the server cover.
Remove the system board
Follow instructions in this section to remove the system board. The procedure must be executed by a trained
technician.

CAUTION:
The power-control button on the device and the power switch on the power supply do not turn off the
electrical current supplied to the device. The device also might have more than one power cord. To
remove all electrical current from the device, ensure that all power cords are disconnected from the
power source.
Important:
This task must be operated by trained technicians that are certified by Lenovo Service. Do no attempt to
remove or install the part without proper training and qualification.
When removing the memory modules, label the slot number on each memory module, remove all the
memory modules from the system board, and set them aside on a static-protective surface for
reinstallation.
