– When installing one 3.5-inch solid-state drive and one 3.5-inch hard-disk drive, install the solid-state
drive in bay 0 and the hard-disk drive in bay 2.
– Start with the drive with the lowest capacity.
– Start with bay 0, proceed to bay 1, and bay 2, and then bay 3.
Note: Drives of different types and different capacities are allowed to be installed in one server, but not in
the same RAID array. The drives in a single RAID array must be the same type and the same capacity.
Procedure
Step 1. Install a 3.5-inch or 2.5-inch drive to the retainer.
Note: To prevent from damaging the drive with static discharge, do not touch the circuit board on
the bottom of the drive.

a. Slightly tear both sides of the retainer apart.

Align the four holes on the drive with the corresponding pins on the retainer; then, fit the
drive into the retainer.
Note: The drive connectors should face the retainer handles.
