Diesel Engine: Fuel System
FUEL SEDIMENT
BOWL
Inspect fuel sediment bowl daily
for
water
or
other
contaminants. Bowl is located under tank. Clean
as required.
To
clean:
1. Close valve
(A)
to
shut off fuel.
2. Loosen nut (B) and remove bowl.
3. Clean bowl thoroughly.
4. Replace bowl and open valve (A).
FUEL/WATER
SEPARATOR
- DIESEL ENGINE
Drain the water and sediment from the separator
at the fuel filter daily. as follows:
1. Shut off engine.
2. Open the drain valve
(A)
by
hand,
1½
to
2 turns
counter-clockwise until draining occurs.
3. Drain the filter sump
of
water until clear fuel is
visible.
4.
IMPORTANT
:
Do
not over-tighten valve.
Damage
to
threads may result.
Turn the valve clockwise
to
close the drain
valve.
