Follow these brief instructions to prepare your eXplorist for use and
familiarize
yourself with
the
features of
the
eXplorist found in the Basic
User Manual. After
that
you'll
be
ready to take
on
the
great outdoors,
with
the
peace of mind found while using the eXplorist.
Charging
the
Battery:
Connect the
PC
cable to
the back of the eXplorist. Connect the
AC
adapter jack to the
PC
cable
and
then to
an
AC
wall outlet.
The
battery will begin
charging,
even
with the eXplorist turned off.
Full battery charging
may
take 4 hours.
Installing
an
optional
SO
card
Open
the battery door
and
remove
the LI-ION
battery, exposing the
SO
Card
Cradle.
Lightly
press
on
the
SO
Card
Cradle
Release
and
the cradle will spring open.

With the cradle open, slide the
SO
card
in
to the cradle
(shown
in
gray
below). 00
NOT
lay
the
SO
card
flat
in
the
battery
compartment
as
damage
will
occur
when
closing
the
SO
Card
Cradle.
Gently
push
the
SO
card cradle back
down
until it locks into
place.
Put the LI-ION battery back
in
the battery
compartment
and
secure the battery
door.
