32 MDS iNET 900 User’s Guide MDS 05-2806A01, Rev. A
NOTE: In the discussion that follows, COM1 and COM2 will be treated
alike unless noted. They provide essentially the same data
services.
Configuration
There are several configuration parameters for the Remote Serial
Gateway found under the Serial Configuration Menu of the iNET Man-
agement System. Note that some of the parameters are not applicable to
IP-to-Serial mode. After making changes to the configuration, you must
use the menu’s “Execute Changes” to cause the iNET to implement the
requested changes.
If you are connecting EIA-232 serial devices to the iNET unit, review
these parameters carefully.
2.5.2 Serial Gateway (Port) Configuration Menu
The first two menu items present the identical parameter fields for each
port. The third item—Serial Data Statistics—presents statistics for both
ports on one screen.
