5. Insert a valve spring compressor under the rocker arm nut, compress the valve spring, and remove the valve keepers.

Valve spring compressor (cylinder head on engine) J5892‑D
6. Carefully release the valve spring compressor.
7. Remove the valve spring cap and valve spring.
IMPORTANT: If compressed air is not available, do not turn the crankshaft while valve springs, retainers, and locks are
removed or the valves will fall into the cylinder.
8. Remove and discard the valve stem oil seal.
