2. Measure the valve spring for squareness.
3. Replace the valve spring if not square.
4. Use a spring compressor to measure the valve spring tension. Replace the spring if the measured value is less than the
specified limit.

Valve Reconditioning
1. Recondition the valve face to the proper angle if the valve face is pitted or worn.
2. Measure the valve margin. If the valve margin is less than the specified amount after reconditioning, replace the valve.
