IMPORTANT: The fluid level is checked with the dipstick inserted—not screwed into the housing.
1. Remove the dipstick.
2. Fill the transmission with fluid through the dipstick hole to bring the level up to the full mark.

3. Replace the dipstick.
a - Dipstick
IMPORTANT: Do not start or crank the engine without fluid in the transmission.
IMPORTANT: To accurately check the fluid level, operate the engine at 1500 RPM for two minutes immediately prior to
checking the fluid level.
4. Start the engine and operate it at 1500 RPM for two minutes to fill all hydraulic circuits.
5. Stop the engine and quickly check the fluid level. Add transmission fluid, if necessary, to bring the level up to the full mark
on the dipstick.

Checking
1. Remove the dipstick.
IMPORTANT: When checking the fluid level, rest the dipstick on top of the threaded housing hole. Do not screw the
dipstick into the threaded housing hole.
2. Check the fluid level as indicated on the dipstick with the dipstick resting on top of the threaded hole.
NOTE: The fluid level may be somewhat over the maximum mark, as some of the fluid from the transmission fluid cooler
and hoses may have drained back into the transmission.
3. If the fluid level is low, add transmission fluid to bring the level up to the maximum mark on the dipstick.
