Non-linear error correction (NLEC)
Highlight the NLEC field as shown.
Use NLEC to compensate for encoder and machine variation by applying error
correction coefficients. NLEC correction coefficients apply to each cell of a grid
standard laid out on the measuring envelope.

Grid intersections form the corners of a cell. NLEC compares measured values
of intersections to nominal values then generates a correction coefficient for the
cell. Correction coefficients provide error compensation for the entire area of the
grid standard.
Complete the following tasks before performing NLEC setup. Set the startup
zero field to yes on the measure setup screen. Turn on reference marks on the
encoder setup screen. Cycle power to the QC200 to establish machine zero
during startup.
