4Ifthevehiclespeedexceedsthemaximumfunction
speedoftheACC,90mph,thesystemwill
automaticallyswitchtotheStandbymode,thismeans
thatallaccelerationandbrakingmanoeuvresmustbe
carriedoutbythedriveraccordingtolocaltrafclaws
andtrafcandroadconditions.
5Iftheadaptivecruisecontrolsystemisalreadyinuse,
thedrivershouldpayspecialattentioninthefollowing
conditions,selecttheappropriatespeed,andbeready
totakeactionorapplybrakes.

Whenanimageofyourcarandrearendofthe
vehicleaheadseparatedbyagrid,isdisplayedinthe
instrumentpackmessagecentretheACCsystem
willmakeanynecessaryresponsetothevehicle
ahead,iftheimageisnotdisplayedtheACCsystem
willNOTmakeanyresponse,theresponsibilityfor
anymanoeuvresrestwiththedriver.
•Encountersavehicleorobjectwhichisstationary
ortraversingthelanes.
•Approachingthevehicleaheadtoofast,theadaptive
cruisecontrolsystemcannotapplysufcient
brakingforce.
•Avehiclesuddenlycutsintothelaneinfront.
•Thevehicleaheadmakesanemergencybraking
manoeuvre.
•Anoncomingvehiclecrossesthecentreoftheroad
andisdrivingtowardsyouinthesamelane.
•Encountersavehicledrivingatalowspeed.
•Encountersavehiclewithloadeditemsprotruding
fromthebodyside,rearorroofofthevehicle.
