2 Safety instructions
2.1 General information
NOTICE
Warning of damage to property and/or the environment.
The product complies with the directives and standards on electrical equipment,
electromagnetic compatibility, and the prescribed safety requirements. However,
improper use can cause damage to persons and property.
The product was in perfect condition with regard to safety features when it left the
factory.
To maintain this condition and to ensure safe operation, the user must follow the
instructions and observe the warnings in this manual.
The Midrics 1 (MIXS1) complies with the directives and standards for equipment intended
for use in potentially explosive atmospheres, electromagnetic compatibility and the
prescribed restrictions on the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and
electronic equipment (RoHS). However, improper use can cause damage to persons and
property.
If the battery in the board needs to be replaced, use only approved batteries: PANASONIC
CR2023. See also the note on replacing the battery in Chapter 4.2.10.
2.2 Intended use
The Midrics 1 (MIXS1) is a piece of electrical equipment and is suitable for daily quality
control in industry. The Midrics 1 (MIXS1) is intended for use with weighing platforms that
meet the technical specications described. For this purpose, the Midrics 1 (MIXS1), as well
as the accessories, must be operated within the specied technical data.
The Midrics 1 (MIXS1) explosive analysis device meets the requirements set out in the
European Directive for electrical equipment of category II 2 GD and is suitable for use in
hazardous areas of zones 1, 2, and 21, 22.
The Midrics 1 (MIXS1) is suitable for use in an industrial electromagnetic environment.
Any use deviating from this is deemed to be improper.
2.3 Incoming goods inspection
Check the contents of the consignment for completeness. Check the contents visually to
determine whether any damage has occurred during transport. If there are grounds for
rejection of the goods, a claim must be led with the carrier immediately. A Minebea Intec
sales or service organization must also be notied.
2.4 Before operational startup
NOTICE
Perform visual inspection.
Before operational startup as well as after storage or transport, inspect the product
visually for signs of mechanical damage.
