Establishing an CDMA Data Connection (MC9598-K and MC959B-K)
A data connection allows Internet access across a wireless network. Data connection is pre-packaged with service
accounts.
To verify active data service:
1. Tap Start > Internet Explorer.
2. In the address bar, enter a URL for a web site.
3. Tap to display the Connectivity dialog. The dialog box displays the data connection information.
NOTE Tapping Disconnect during an active data transfer (e.g., downloading a web page) automatically reconnects
the connection. You cannot disconnect the connection until the data transfer is complete.
NOTE Ensure that you have data service activated with your service provider.
On MC959B-K configurations, ensure that the correct carrier is configured appropriately on the Broadband
Settings window. See Switching Carrier Networks on page 5-31 for procedures for switching carriers.
NOTE On devices with Windows Mobile 6.5.3, tap the Status Bar and then tap the Connectivity icon to display the
Connectivity dialog box.
