10 Time Domain (Scope) Mode
182 IDA-3106 Narda
10.1 About Time Domain (Scope) mode
In Time Domain (Scope) mode, the IDA-3106 measures selectively at a
pre-selected frequency and displays the result as a graph continuously
versus time (Zero Span operation). The trace shape corresponds here to
the magnitude of the signal level, which is recorded without any gaps within
the displayed time range. This would display the RMS value of a constant
sine wave signal (CW) as a horizontal measurement line.
A trigger function with selectable threshold allows you to trigger and save a
measurement when a particular trigger event occurs. It is also possible to
make long-term measurements over periods of up to 24 hours.
There are two sub modes:
To select a sub mode:
Press the Measurement softkey and select a sub mode.
Sub mode Function Application
High
Resolution
Scope
The measurement is
displayed at maximum
resolution and can
comprise up to 250,000
individual measured
values.
This sub mode is therefore suitable for
displaying short term signals that require a
time resolution of down to 32 ns.
Time Span can be selected and Time Res
is fixed (= 1/CBW).
Long-Time
Scope
The measurement results
are displayed on a
compressed time scale.
Up to 62,500 measured
values can be recorded
per detector.
Use this sub mode when the maximum
Time Span of High Resolution Scope
mode is insufficient.
The maximum Time Span is 24 hours.
Time Span and Time Res can be
selected.
