Manage the Firewall and Secure Your Network

AC1900, N900, and N450 WiFi Cable Data Gateways
To manage firewall, web, and NAT ALG features:
1. On your computer, launch an Internet browser such as Mozilla Firefox or Microsoft
Internet Explorer.
2. In the address field of your browser
, enter http://routerlogin.net.
You are prompted to enter a user name and password.
3. T
ype admin for the user name and type your password.
If you did not yet personalize your password, type password for the password.
4. Click the OK button.
The BASIC Home screen displays.
5. Select ADV
ANCED > Security > Services.
The Services screen displays.
6. Customize the settings as described in the following table.
Feature Description
Firewall Features
These features are enabled by default. To disable a feature, clear the associated Enable check box.
Firewall Features If firewall features are enabled, the cable data gateway performs stateful
packet inspection (SPI) and protects against denial of service (DoS)
attacks. If firewall features are disabled, the cable data gateway does not
perform SPI and does not provide DoS protection.
Note: Best practise is to keep firewall features enabled.
