BMC II BISYNC Operation, Administration, and Maintenance Guide BMCB001 and up
Machine-Machine Security Data
The BMC processes Telephone Company sensitive billing information. To
protect this data, the BMC has provisions for setting up security measures
governing machine (HOC - BMC) access to the system. The KYWD
command fulfills this security requirement. This command establishes a
keyword that must be verified by the HOC before remote access is permitted.
Once this security data is entered, BMC can only be accessed if the correct
password is provided.
Polling Device Password
The KYWD command is used to set the five character communications link
password. This password is used by remote systems to identify themselves as
authorized users of the BMC. The five character password is to be used the
remote polling system to gain access to the BMC. The default value for the
KYWD Password is HOST.0. This command should be given the highest
priority.
To list the password table, enter the following at the maintenance terminal:

CAUTION
To avoid conflict of data on the BMC disk drives, do not
use this command when the user interface is directed to the
Standby Processor.
