Section 060-INDP-610 Maintenance Procedures Guide 6-101
BMC II BISYNC Operation, Administration, and Maintenance Guide BMCB001 and up
Site File Error Procedure
This procedure assumes the user is logged into the BMC and that the BMC
messages are directed to the local terminal. No output to a local terminal will
occur if the user is not logged in or messages are directed to a DMS-10
printer. For DMS-10 sites using the DMS-10 printer, the appropriate MSG x
(x = TTY # assigned to BMC) must precede the command entered.
A copy of the BMC site data should be available in the office records or can
be obtained from the BMC using the chart of site data commands at the end of
this procedure. Obtain a printout of site data before performing this
procedure.
Procedure 6-31
Site File Error
Step Description
148
The SITE FILE ERROR error map message occurs as a result of a previous SITDAT
READ or SITDAT WRITE issued by the system software or the user. The following
commands are used to list the BMC alarms and identify the active processor.
>ERRMAP ALARMS (cr)
System responds with a list of alarms on the active and standby processors.
>CLK (cr)
System responds with a time stamp and the identity of the active processor.
Note:
The A processor is in the top shelf and B processor is in the bottom shelf. The active
processor is identified by the location of the lighted green PRI lamp on the BMC status panel.
If there are any disk related alarms listed in the error map, troubleshoot those alarms prior
to the SITE FILE ERROR alarm.
149
Enter the following commands to clear BMC error map alarms.
>RSERR 00 (cr)
and/or
>DOS S RSERR 00 (cr)
System response indicates that the alarm has been cleared.
