6-100 Section 060-INDP-610 Maintenance Procedures Guide
297-6201-502 Standard 01.02 September 2000
146
Contact the telephone company personnel and determine the reason for the unsuccessful
polling session. If the SELGRP value that is used in the polling request message is invalid
(greater than 6), the session is terminated and the following message is printed by the
BMC:
INVALID SELGRP: EMBEDDED COMMAND IGNORED
If this message is present at the BMC, return to step 2 and ensure that the SELGRP value
designated in byte 22 is within the valid range (0-6). Resume executing the procedure.
If the requested sequence number is not contained within the SELGRP value designated
in byte 22, the session is terminated and the following message is printed by the BMC:
NO DATA AVAILABLE
If this message is present at the BMC, return to step 2 and select another SELGRP value
to embed in the polling request message and resume executing the procedure.
If the polling session was terminated for another reason, the telephone company
personnel should perform the craftsperson activities associated with the resulting error
messages. Once the problem is resolved, return to step 3 and resume executing the
procedure.

Once all of the secondary AMA data is successfully retrieved and processed, modify the
polling request message. Change the value of byte 22 to 0. This change ensures that
subsequent poll requests will access primary data from the BMC.
