3. Press the to highlight ANCHOR ALARM,
then press the menu key.
4. Press the to turn the alarm to ON.
5. Press the to move the cursor right, and use
the to specify the distance the boat can normally
be expected to move on its anchor chain (add a safety fac-
tor to allow for GPS or loran inaccuracy).
6. Press the key.
Remember to set the anchor alarm to OFF before intentionally
moving away from the anchor-drop point.
Setting the
cross-track distance
The CROSS TRACK alarm lets you specify the maximum dis-
tance the boat is permitted to move from the track line before
it sounds an alarm. You can turn the cross-track alarm to ON
or OFF, and specify the alarm distance from the track line.
1. Press the to highlight CROSS TRACK, then
press the menu key.
2. Press the to turn the alarm to ON.
3. If you want to change the limit at which the cross-track
alarm alerts you, press the to move the
cursor right, and use the to specify the distance
at which you want to be alerted.
4. Press the key.
Setting the arrive
radius
The ARRIVE RADIUS alarm signals you when you come within
a specified distance of the next waypoint. You can specify the
distance of the radius around waypoints to as close as 0.01 nm.
NOTE:
Keep the arrive radius distance very small because the unit automatically
begins to sequence to the next waypoint when you come within the arrival
distance you’ve set for the current waypoint.
