Bluetooth
®
function
Connecting a Bluetooth
®
device
This function is compatible with Bluetooth
®
and allows you to connect the voice recorder
to a device that is compatible with the same standard. A wireless connection enables you
to use earphones and other compatible devices freely within a certain range.
NOTE
• Check that there is sufficient battery
life. Replace or charge the batteries
if needed (☞ P. 12, P. 16).
• Check that the Bluetooth
®
indicator
is off (☞ P.7).
• Turn on the power of the device to
be connected and check that there is
sufficient battery power.
• Place the voice recorder and device
to be connected within 1 m of each
other.
TIP
• There are the following two ways to
connect a Bluetooth
®
device.
[Pairing]:
Use this method when connecting
a device that is to be used for the
first time or when the connection
settings have been deleted.
[Connection] (☞ P. 144):
Use this option when reconnecting
to paired devices after the
connection is lost or to connect
to a device other than the one
to which the recorder connected
automatically.
Connecting using [Pairing]
The initial connection between two
Bluetooth
®
devices is established
through a process called “pairing”. Once
the devices are paired, the recorder will
automatically re-establish a connection to
the most recently connected smartphone
when [On] is selected for [Bluetooth] >
[On/Off] (☞ P.145).

Switch to pairing mode on the
device to be connected.
• For details on pairing mode, see
the user's manual of the device to
be used.

Press the MENU/SCENE
button while the voice recorder
is in stop mode.

Press the + or − button to
select [Device Menu] tab.

Press the `OK button to
move the cursor into the list of
setting items.

Press the `OK button.

Press the + or − button to
select [Audio Device].
