recommendations, this indicator blinks five seconds prior to the actual laser emission, in order to
warn about the imminent hazard.
The two aforementioned elements are required by laser safety standards in order to protect the
user from an inadvertent exposure.
- “Status” indicator: This indicator is a green LED indicating the status of the combiner:
o It is unlit when none of the laser sources is enabled for emission,
o It is lit solid when all the sources that are enabled for emission are emitting and
stabilized,
o It is blinking when, amongst the sources that are enabled for emission, at least one of
them is under stabilization
- “Alarm” indicator: This indicator is a red LED that, when lit solid, indicates either the presence
of an alarm on one the laser sources, or that the interlock circuit is open.
- “Shutter 1” and “Shutter 2” indicators: Each of these indicators is a white LED indicating the
status of the corresponding shutters. The LED is lit when the shutter is open, unlit when it is
closed.
- Shutter switch and indicator: When this switch is on its “Closed” position, all the output
shutters are forced closed, regardless of their command signal. The LED indicator is lit when this
shutter is on its “Open” position.
HEATSINK OPTION (ACX-HTSK-L4CC OR ACX-HTSK-L6CC)
An optional heatsink is available to ensure a stable operation of the laser head.
Figure 3-9: Rear view of the heatsink
Here are the accessible elements on the heatsink:
- Air inlet and outlet: ambient air will flow through these apertures and transfer the excess heat.
Do not block these apertures and leave at least 5 cm around them to ensure a sufficient air flow.
- Fan supply socket: Input for the motorized fan inducing the air flow.
- Supporting legs: These legs are used to support the laser bench. Rotate them if you need to
adjust their height.
