LIFTING AND CARRYING THE COMBINER
Check the data sheet for the maximum weight of the instrument. A single person can carry a load of up
to 18 kg safely depending on age, gender and physical condition. If your combiner is heavier than 18 kg,
do not move or carry it by yourself.
Use the handles to move or carry the parcel. Do not grab the mounted accessories when moving the
product; they are not designed to carry the weight of the instrument.
To move the instrument safely, you can use lifting or transporting equipment such as lift trucks and
forklifts. Follow the instructions provided by the equipment manufacturer.
OPERATING SITE
Only use the product indoors. The product casing is not waterproof; water that enters can electrically
connect the casing with live parts, which can lead to electric shock.
The product is suitable for pollution degree 2 environments where nonconductive contamination can
occur. For more information on environmental conditions such as ambient temperature and humidity, see
the data sheet.
In compliance with IEC EN 61010-1 standard, the plug-and-play combiner is intended to be used in an
environment meeting the following conditions:
- Altitude up to 2000 meters,
- Ambient air temperature: from +10°C to +40°C (operating temperature),
- Base plate temperature: from +15°C to +40°C (operating temperature),
- Maximum relative humidity of 80% for ambient air temperatures up to 31°C, decreasing linearly
to 50% at 40°C,
- AC supply voltage fluctuating within +/- 10% of its nominal value,
- Transient over-voltages occurring up the levels of overvoltage category II, as specified in
standard IEC EN 61010-1,
- Temporary over-voltages occurring on the mains supply
ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGES (ESD)
ESD are created when friction over objects create a deficit or an excess of charge. When this discharge
occurs, the voltages involved are high enough to damage electronic circuits.
The combiners have been successfully tested against ESD of the following amplitudes: +/-4kV on contact,
+/-8kV on air.
Although input protections are integrated in the laser sources, a particular attention is
required when using the product in dry air and on a floor presenting a carpet or a vinyl-
tiled surfaces: in such conditions, discharges in excess of 20kV can occur.
In order to prevent ESD damage during handling, use appropriate clothing and
equipment (antistatic wrist straps, etc.).
